In Hunt for Red October, the stakes were incredibly high. A rogue, undetectable, submarine with a massive nuclear arsenal, heading toward the American coast, run by a captain with unknown motives? That’s an epic story with a potentially catastrophic outcome.

Patriot Games was a story of revenge on Jack Ryan. Cool. It has interesting moments, but overall was kind of a snore.
