There exist two major adblocking platforms that block domains via DNS requests: AdGuard and Pi-Hole. Both can run in a docker container, but Pi-Hole was originally developed to sit on a Raspberry Pi and essentially be left alone in a closet somewhere. They’re both incredibly easy to setup and manage, and it’s rewarding seeing the lack of ads and noise your browser throws at you.
These are the adblock lists I use to clean up our home internet experience. Feel free to add one or all of them, but pay special attention to the ones at the bottom. Keep in mind that AdGuard lists work in PiHole and are no longer exclusive to one platform.
Warning
: “Super Block List” blocks major sites like Google, Twitter, Facebook, Apple, etc.
